Mass Audubon

Mass Audubon protects 38,000 acres of land throughout Massachusetts, saving birds and other wildlife, and making nature accessible to all. As Massachusetts’ largest nature conservation nonprofit, we welcome more than a half million visitors a year to our 59 wildlife sanctuaries and 20 nature centers. From inspiring hilltop views to breathtaking coastal landscapes, serene woods, and working farms, we believe in protecting our state’s natural treasures for wildlife and for all people. Mass Audubon is a nationally recognized environmental education leader, offering thousands of camp, school, and adult programs that get over 225,000 kids and adults outdoors every year. With more than 125,000 members and supporters, we advocate on Beacon Hill and beyond, and conduct conservation research to preserve the natural heritage of our beautiful state for today’s and future generations. As a leader in climate action, we also have reduced our carbon footprint by over 50% in the last ten years. We have made fighting climate change a priority. By partnering with us, Jet Set Off-Set participants will help us respond to a changing climate through our focus areas: · Conservation - Scientific research helps determine how climate change affects the most vulnerable and endangered birds, amphibians, and mammals. With this research, we identify and protect the land and habitats – and wildlife corridors – those animals need to thrive. · Education – By teaching people of all ages about climate change, we inspire them to take direct action and combat climate change in their homes, schools, and communities. We also host Climate Cafes and Youth Climate Summits to convene people around this urgent issue. · Advocacy - Mass Audubon advocates for legislation and funding that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and guides communities that are preparing to adapt to the inevitable challenges of a changing climate.
